FAQs
When do I pay for the hire?
Payment is taken at the start of the hire period (usually before or at the first lesson of term). This secures the instrument for your child.
Do I need to buy accessories (picks, sticks, straps, etc.)?
Basic accessories are included with the hire. If your child needs extras during the term, just let Mr C know and he’ll happily provide some spare picks, sticks, or straps.
What happens if the instrument gets damaged or is lost?
Mr C understands accidents can happen. Please tell him as soon as possible so he can arrange repair or replacement if necessary. In most cases he can give advice on safe usage and care, and outline any reasonable repair fees if needed.
Who is responsible for keeping the instrument safe?
The instrument remains the property of BANDY / Mr Crilley. Mr C asks parents and pupils to take care of it while it is on loan. If you have questions about storage or transportation, get in touch and he'll help.
What if my child changes their mind or stops lessons mid-term?
Mr C encourages children to stick with it for the full term, but if lessons stop early, please return the instrument. Unfortunately, term hire fees are non-refundable once the hire has started.
What if I want to hire for more than one term?
That’s absolutely fine - just let him know in advance, and you can renew the hire for another term, subject to availability.
Can I keep the instrument over the summer holiday?
Yes - in most cases you can keep the instrument. Mr C will arrange a summer return plan or provide options if you’d like to continue into the next term.
Can siblings share the same instrument?
Yes - as long as the instrument is treated with care and remains in good condition.
Is the instrument insured?
Instruments are not automatically insured once on loan. Most families rely on their home insurance; please check your policy or ask us if you’re unsure.
